Cookies and local storage
How language, progress and sign-in are stored.
1. Storage used by the app
The blackjack_language cookie stores the selected language for one year for this website. The blackjack-lab-language localStorage entry stores the same preference without a set expiry. localStorage entries beginning blackjack-course-v1- store account-specific course progress, also without a set expiry. These records support functions used by the visitor; the app does not use them for advertising profiles.
2. Sign-in and infrastructure
Native login uses the __Secure-blackjack.session_token cookie, valid for up to 7 days and renewable with activity. It is HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax; signing out revokes the session. The bl_local_only cookie (1 year) preserves the native login preference. The hosting platform and sign-in service may use additional technical cookies for sessions and security. These are not managed by this website’s own code. [ADD a verified list of their names, providers and lifetimes after checking the deployed domain and sign-in flow.] This overview is not yet a complete audit of infrastructure cookies.
3. Analytics and advertising
The app’s own code currently contains no advertising pixels or analytics tracking scripts. Before optional tracking is introduced, suitable information and consent must be provided where required by law. Technical storage necessary for a requested service is assessed separately; these rules also cover local storage, not only cookies.
4. Removing stored data
Open this website’s site-data settings in your browser and clear the stored data. This may remove your sign-in session, language preference and course progress. Clearing the browser does not itself cancel an order or account entitlement. Blocking technical storage may limit some functions. See the privacy notice for external services and controller details.
